Minister Osmani Holds Series of Bilateral Meetings in Turin

 On the margins of the meeting of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers taking place in Turin, Italy, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, had bilateral meetings with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Moldova, Ilia Darchiashvili,  Jeyhun Bayramov, Ararat Mirzoyan, and Nicu Popescu respectively, as well as with the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Emine Dzhaparova.

 The focus of the discussions that Minister Osmani had with the colleagues was on the upcoming OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office of North Macedonia in 2023, the security situation in the OSCE region, as well as the disrupted security architecture in Europe. Mr. Osmani also took the opportunity to exchange his views with his colleagues on the on-going situation in Ukraine after the start of the Russian military aggression on the country, as well as on the use of the Council of Europe mechanisms for identifying responsibility for human rights violations. Further, Minister Osmani and his colleagues highlighted the importance of the EU perspective for both the Western Balkans and the Eastern Partnership.

 Mr. Osmani pointed out that, as part of the OSCE Troika and upcoming Chair-in-Office in 2023, North Macedonia was strongly committed to preserving the fundamental principles and values ​​of the OSCE such as respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political independence of the OSCE participating states.

 Minister Osmani and his colleagues also took the opportunity to exchange their views on the cooperation within the Council of Europe as a key forum for human rights, democracy, and the rule of law.
